Norwegian Jewel

My poor neglected blog.  It's been almost a year since our cruise through the Panama Canal, but better late than never, I suppose.  The photos still have a story to tell as do I.

We spent a lovely night at the Long Beach Harbor before boarding the beautiful Norwegian Jewel the following morning for our cruise.  She wasn't at the dock when we went to bed, but our room had a view of the harbor and I was up and down several times during the night to check if she had arrived.  Finally, at around 5:00 a.m., I looked out the window and there she was!  Needless to say, I didn't sleep a wink after that.

We boarded the Jewel at 11:00 that morning.  Our cabin wouldn't be ready until 1:00 and we took advantage of the time to have lunch and explore the ship.

Who needs real palm trees when they have these!?

We spent a lot of time at this open air bar - the pina coladas were exceptional!

Welcome Aboard BBQ - yummy!

Heading for open water - let the cruise begin!

Party the night away!

We were off to a great start.  Next stop Cabo San Lucas.
